Adaptive pore-network modelling and experiments on thermochemical processes in single porous particles, with a primary focus on particle pyrolysis. An adaptive pore-network model simulates single-particle reactions, tracking the evolving internal pore structure and in-pore chemistry. Pore-network analysis during conversion yields structure-dependent parameters (e.g., porosity, permeability) and trends in selected reaction products. These outputs inform continuum-scale models by updating effective parameters, improving reactor- and process-level predictions.
